Project Description:
After my first failure with the metals reacting to the lye, and halfway through my second unit, I decided to go a different route and try a series cell design.

It wasn't until Kevensatterfield posted about the weatherstripping that I decided to do this, so thanks Kevin!

Also a big thanks to Chris for the use of this site, and all of the folk out there discussing things on a daily basis -- It makes for interesting reading.

I have run this electrolyser a few different times, and have performed some measurements.  I will include these in my picture descriptions as I go along.  I hope to build another couple of units in different configurations to try and get as much experience and exposure as I can to this.  As I do, I will continue to post my results.

Materials testing for the weatherstripping and the stainless shim stock.

Notice the colour leaking from the brown weatherstripping.  The brown weatherstriping didn't seal very well.  I ended using the thicker, black, neoprene stuff.

This was the packaging for the brown weatherstripping.  It was more expensive, at around $7.99 for 16'.  I ended up not using this because it didn't seal the plates well enough.

The packaging for the black neoprene weatherstripping that I ended up using.  This stuff was $4.99CDN for 10'.

Placing the crappy brown weatherstripping on the stainless sheet.

Cut 90 degrees from the corner, and turn.
